What is CITMS

1. CUSTOMIZABLE  INTEGRATED  TRAFFIC  MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CITMS)

The solution was developed using the principles of Customization and Integration. The Dhaka Traffic System needs to have facilities for customizing traffic signal operation in a particular intersection, corridor, zone, or even the entire city through a Portable Device (TAB) or the Control Room. The system should have options to customize the timing: random, fixed, phase, conditional, coordinated, or adaptive.


If we have Customizable Traffic Signal Timing Options; various kinds of challenges can be addressed, such as:
Emergency Ambulance/Fire Brigade Vehicle  Management, Sudden Crowd Management or Foreign VVIP Movements.

Dhaka Traffic is run and supported by various types of Govt organizations and several projects have been initiated which require strong coordination and integration to maximize the effectiveness and impact. A single platform with multiple interfaces will ensure coordination and integration among organizations and institutions.

Dhaka may not have the capacity to widen its roads or significantly reduce population density, but it has immense potential to enhance traffic management systems for significant improvements.

Bangladeshi scholars, with their expertise in traffic and transportation, have provided valuable international consultancy, significantly contributing to the development and advancement of CITMS.
